Labour Migration

The Finance Minister in a Press Conference has outlined PM’s Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan Scheme. The scheme will be launched on June 20 by PM at Khagaria district in Bihar. About Rs 50000 crores are being pulled together for the purpose About 25 different projects, which will create job opportunities for migrants. The campaign of 125 days across 116 districts in 6 states aims to work in mission mode to help migrant workers. The six states are Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, MP, Odisha and Rajasthan. The scheme is good in intention but the problem is that labour availability in the various industrial states will take a hit, if the Government gives them work in their home states. Lot of industries will face labour shortage issues.
